Ceramics
Aimee Noel Smith has been working in clay for 5 years. Aimee got
her B.A. in Art History at Webster University in 2002. She began
working in the ceramic department as a work-study student during
her junior year, and in her words, says, "I just never left
the studio. I was supposed to be studying Duchamp, but instead I
found myself covered in clay and loving it."
Aimee currently works full time at Krueger Pottery as the studio
manager and part time as a teacher. She also works at Laumeier Sculpture
Park as a teacher, Museum Educator, and Art Fair Demonstrator.
Aimee makes thrown & altered work that she wants to "fee
good in the hand". She says about her work
"I am
very interested in pots that you can use at the table, especially
pots that come in sets. A set is not a lonely as a single pot, it
is more of a complete tone".
