Ceramics

Bill utilizes a special process called raku. Raku firing is a special reduction process which results in black carbon being deposited on the surface of the pots and in the cracks of the glazes. Brilliant metallic lustres can be achieved by this process as well. Raku is unique because the pieces are removed from the kiln when they are red hot, smothered in leaves or sawdust and then submerged in water when they are approximately 600 degrees Farenheit.
