Energy Saving Brick!
Most Skutt kilns offer 3" firebrick as an option or standard
to provide additional insulation and energy savings. Skutt uses
only the highest quality firebrick, carefully cut and grooved
for precise assembly.
|
Computer Control! Skutt offers two options
for computer controlled firing. The KM series of kilns feature
a built in Skutt controller (seen right). The controller can
also be wall mounted (shown left) to control manual kilns from
any manufacturer.
|
|
Modular Construction!
Skutt kilns offer detachable sections. This modular design makes
moving and repairing the kiln much easier. One person can move
and set up most models. You can even stack the kiln around a
large piece!
|
Top Quality Materials!
Skutt uses only the highest quality Kanthal A-1 elements, electrical
components, bricks, hardware and stainless steel. Every switch
is individually tested before construction and every kiln is
tested and inspected by experts before leaving the factory.
These kilns are designed and built to withstand regular high
firings.
|
|
The Envirovent! Skutt's
kiln ventilation system keeps room air clean and keeps glaze
colors bright and shiny. The EniviroVent creates a downdraft
effect which increases uniformity, and keeps elements clean
too!

kilns. Krueger Pottery provides factory authorized warranty
work on all Skutt kilns..
|
|
Manual Models! Kilns
in the Skutt KS (Manual) line include the Dawson Kiln-Sitter
as standard equipment. For those who prefer manual firing control,
the Kiln-Sitter is ideal. Limit timers and pyrometers are available
options.

The New Lid Lifter makes
Skutt 10 and 12-sided lids some of the lightest on the market.
In fact you can now lift them with just a finger. The lid brace
has been redesigned for added strength and now has 2 positions.
The innovative Center Pivot Design distributes the force on
the lid across 2 points as opposed to only one.
It ships fully assembled on the kiln. And unlike some other
brands there is no awkward loading of the springs required.
The kiln remains completely sectional for moving and repairs.
The lid can be effortlessly and safely detensioned by simply
raising the lid and sliding out the tension rod. It really is
that easy!

How to Interpret Kiln Model Number:
Example:
1027-3PK 3PH
10 = Number of sides
27 = Depth of Kiln
3 = Indicates 3" Brick rather than standad 2.5"
PK = Production Kiln
3PH = 3 Phase - If not present the kiln is single phase

Shimpo-ConeArt Kilns
|
With the Purchase of ConeArt Kilns,
Shimpo brings their legendary quality and technological superiority
to the firing process. Shimpo-ConeArt double-wall kilns feature
true cone 10 capability and heavy industrial design and construction.
|
What does it take to build a truly exceptional electric kiln? You
begin with a layer of soft fire brick backed by 1" of ceramic fiber
board, which is encased in a stainless steel brick shell. Then, you
work from a truly revolutionary design which ensures an even firing,
and true cone 10 power.
Larger Shimpo-ConeArt kilns are constructed in three parts making assembly
and disassembly very manageable. These sections are securely held together
with draw latches.
Cold spots are prevented in the larger kilns of Shimpo's line by an
element in the floor of the kiln. This adds to the cone 10 capabilities
of these kilns. Increased power achieves desired temperature more quickly
and reduces firing time.
We are proud to offer these kilns, and will be happy to assist you
in choosing a firing solution to bst meet your needs. A kiln is a large
investment and needs to be considered carefully.
| An element in the floor for super-even
firing performance |
|
Shimpo ConeArt double-insulation features steel jacketed
non-asbestos material over brick.
|
|
From the dual heavy guage lid props to the steel
jacketed floor, these kilns are built for firing.
